On  December 11,Mr.Sun Qin, Vice Minister of COSTIND and Chairman of CAEA  met with Mr.Parvez Butt, Chairman of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission(PAEC). Mr.Sun mentioned that China and Pakistan enjoyed good lasting relationship and CAEA and PAEC both had carried out successful cooperation in the field of nuclear energy which contributed to the  accomplishment of CHASNNUP-1 which  was regarded as a good example of South-South cooperation .All these  would lay solid foundation for the future collaboration. As a competent governmental organization of China, CAEA would like to continuously support the Chinese enterprises to conduct cooperation and exchange with their Pakistan counterparts in terms of nuclear power, nuclear technology application and etc.

Mr. Butt said that with the significant help of China, the construction of CHASNUPP-1 was very successful. It had accomplished the refueling and outage ahead of schedule The load factor was reportedly over 90% since last refueling. Pakistan  wished both sides could implement CHASNUPP-2 project based on the success of CHASNNUP-1. 

In the meeting, both sides also notified each other the nuclear power development and future planning of their own and exchanged the opinions on the possible expansion of future cooperation. （Article and photo by Gu Xinping）
