On November 10, 2009, the first national nuclear emergency rehearsal (code name: “Aegis 2009”) was held. The rehearsal was a joint exercise between central government, local government and nuclear facility operating units, which was implemented by close coordination between military and local forces. Over 2000 people from the member units of the National Nuclear Emergency Coordination Committee, expert consultation group, military forces, Jiangsu provincial nuclear emergency organizations, Tianwan nuclear power station and a number of local residents participated in the drill.
