On May 12,China’s largest nuclear unit has been connected to the national grid successfully.Tianwan NPP is the largest cooperarion project between China and Russia.It started construction in October 20,1999 and was held by CNNC.

    There are two AES-91 units which have the same installed capacity of 1.06MW and 40-years design life to be constructed in the first cascade of project ,the advanced technology used in nuclear power plant was more secure than most pressurized-water facilities.Unit one of Tianwan NPP is expected to go into commercial operation this year and unit two is expected to be connected to the national grid at the end of this year.When both two units are in commercial operation, they are expected to produce an additional 2.12MW for east china grid.(Tianhe)
