Recently the Premier Wen Jiabao has signed the No.449 State Council Order to issue the “Safety and Protection Regulation of Radioactive Isotope and Radiation Device”. The Xinhua News Agency promulgated this Regulation by authorized on Oct. 4.

This regulation is composed of 7 chapters, 69 items, which are general rule, permission and putting on records, safety and protection, emergency management of radiation accident, supervision and examination, legal responsibility, supplementary articles. The regulation will be put in force on Dec. 1, 2005, and the ”Radiation Protection Regulation of Radioactive Isotope and Radiation Device ” issued by the State Council on Oct. 24, 1989 will be abolished at the same time.
