(News from China Atomic Energy Authority) From November 13 to 14, 2003, the fourth meeting of PRC-ROK joint committee on nuclear energy was held in Beijing. The meeting reviewed the cooperation in peaceful use of nuclear energy between China and Republic of Korea in the past year, and discussed potential cooperations in the coming year.

Mr. Zhang Huazhu, Chairman of China Atomic Energy Authority, and Mr. Kwon Oh Kab, vice minister of Ministry of Science and Technology of ROK, delivered important speeches respectively at the conference. Mr. Zhang introduced the achievements in China nuclear power in recent years, and Mr. Kwon briefed policies and situation on nuclear power development in ROK, and expressed his opinions on the prospect of nuclear power development in the world.

The two parties were satisfied with the great cooperative achievements obtained in peaceful use of nuclear energy between China and ROK in the past year, and reached an agreement on promoting the development of the undertaking jointly.

Representatives of each working group of both sides reported their work progress and achievement in the last year respectively at the meeting.
