BEIJING, June 9 (Xinhuanet) -- French President Francois Hollande has stressed the importance of nuclear cooperation with Japan.

On Saturday, Hollande reiterated that as leaders in nuclear energy, the two nations must cooperate to ensure the technology is safe and reliable. The French President made the remarks as he concluded his three-day visit to Japan.

Japan is still struggling with the aftermath of the 2011 meltdown at the Fukushima Dai-ichi plant, caused by a major earthquake and tsunami disaster.
