In September 2012, the Sino-US radioactive wastes minimization technology seminar, hosted by Eastern Technologies, Inc. (ETI) and participated by nuclear power design, construction and operation organizations including the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, and CNNC China Nuclear Power Engineering Co., Ltd., was held in Qingdao. Aiming at minimization of radioactive wastes, the seminar jointly discussed how to realize minimization of radioactive wastes in nuclear power plants with highly effective processing techniques and promote the sustainable development of nuclear energy.
