On the afternoon of 13 June, Mr. Sun Qin, Chairman of the China Atomic Energy Agency, and Mr. Mohamed El Baradei, IAEA Director General, held a working interview during the IAEA Board of Governors Meeting in June, and both parties had a thorough exchange of views on strengthening the cooperation in the sectors of nuclear power, nuclear safety and nuclear security, the schemes of nuclear fuel cycle as well as the hotspot questions concerned in international society. After the interview, Mr. Sun Qin and Mr. Mohamed El Baradei attended together the signing ceremony of the Cooperative Arrangement for Nuclear Security between CAEA & IAEA.

Mr. Tang Guoqiang, the Chinese Ambassador to UN, Vienna, and other international organizations also attended the interview and the signing ceremony.
