[CAEA Net News]On October 19,2006, Mr.Sun Qin, Chairman of CAEA, met with Egyptian Ambassdor, Mahoud Allam . Both sides discussed the possibility to carry out the bilateral cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.

　　Ambassador Allam Said, with increasing demand on energy consumption, Egyptian government decided to explore more energy resources. They had chosen nuclear energy  as one alternative and worked out a development planning on nuclear energy. Egypt would like to exchange the experience with China in this regard and implement collaboration on nuclear technology and human resources.

　　China and Egypt were members of NPT and had signed bilateral agreement on peaceful uses of nuclear energy, which had laid down a solid policy and legal foundation. Both sides could explore the opportunities of cooperation in the bilateral and multilateral framework.
