“The International Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Energy for the 21st century”Held in pairs

【IAEA Web news】The International Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Energy for the 21st century, organized by International Atomic Energy Agency and OECD, hosted by French Government, was held in Paris, France between March 21-22, 2005. The main objective of this conference was to study the global situation, project the future development strategy and roadmap and define the potential role of nuclear energy to address the challenge created by the sustainable development and environmental protection in the 21st century. There are more than 70 countries and international organizations sending their delegations to attend the conference. The ministers or vice ministers from 35 countries were present in the meeting. Mr. Zhang Huazhu, chairman of China Atomic Energy Authority, headed the Chinese delegation to participate in the conference and delivered a speech titled “Nuclear Energy Development in China-from the Prospective of National Energy Strategy”.(Huang wei)
