　　[China Atomic Energy Authority Cite] The vice chairman of Commission of Science Technology and Industry for National Defense and the chairman of China Atomic Energy Authority Zhang Huazhu met Mr. Philippe GUELLUY ----the new ambassador of France to China on September 9th 2004, and had a friendly talk.

　　Zhang Huazhu said that this year is the 40thanniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between France and China. During the 40 years the French people and the Chinese people have founded deep friendship, and the cooperation between the governments of the two countries and enterprises have made great achievements. As an essential part of bilateral cooperation between France and China, the nuclear energy cooperation has always been paid attention to by the governments of the two countries. The Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station and the No.1 generating unit of Lingao Nuclear Power Station, which were constructed under the cooperation between us, are good examples of industrial cooperation between France and China. The history of Sino-France cooperation has been over 20 years. We should base on this foundation and further enhance the cooperation in nuclear field between two counties and finally benefit our people. 　　ruction in China, Zhang pointed out that the two projects of the Sanmen Nuclear Power Station and the Yangjiang Nuclear Power Station will adopt international tender bidding, and the Chinese side will choose the partner according to the facts of security, technology and economy situations. Zhang hoped that relevant French enterprise should hold long-term foresight and join the international competition of nuclear projects in China with their best technologies.

　　Mr. Philippe GUELLUY expressed that the French government always paid much attention to the strategic partnership with China. French President Chirac will visit China this year, he will further express the significance of Sino-France strategic partnership during his visit. Mr. Philippe GUELLUY pointed out that the Sino-France cooperation in nuclear field should be long-term and stable. He said that French enterprises would help China as much as possible by cooperation with Chinese enterprises.
