[News from CAEA] (by Gu Xinping) On November 3, 2003, the symposium on design and implementation of IAEA’s technical cooperation project was held in Beijing. The conference discussed about relevant issues in the process of design and implementation of IAEA’s technical cooperation project carried out in China.

Officials from IAEA attended the conference and introduced the strategy of IAEA technical cooperation project. They also exchanged ideas on how to better complete technical aid project with Chinese representatives of the projects, and explained the effective ways to complete the projects.

The attendents discussed about how to promote the rate of implementation of IAEA’s technical aid project and proposed concrete solutions.

Officials of the department of international cooperation of CAEA said that to better accomplish this work, the government should help to solve the problems occurring in the implementation of the projects, improve its management, provide better services and serve as a link between CAEA and IAEA in the next year.

Over 50 representatives from over 20 organizations in China attended the conference.
