CAEA Discussed with National Nuclear Energy Adviser of Jordan on Cooperation

On May 30, Yang Dazhu, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation of CAEA met with Dr. Kamal Jabra Saba Alaraj, national nuclear energy adviser of Jordan and exchanged views on bilateral nuclear energy cooperation.

Yang said CAEA was coordinating with relevant ministries in China to facilitate early signature of inter-governmental nuclear energy cooperation agreement between the two countries, and the Chinese side would like to conduct comprehensive cooperation with the Jordanian side in nuclear power, sea water desalination, and human resources training, etc. 

Kamal said that the Jordanian side also hoped to enhance its indigenous capacity of nuclear energy development with the support of China, advising that China could help Jordan to establish regional nuclear technology center within the IAEA regional technical cooperation mechanism, with a bid to provide training and other services to the Region.
