On April 16, 2007, Vice minister of COSTIND and chairman of CAEA, Mr. Sun Qin met the Belarus delegation led by first vice-premier Vladimir Semashko. Both sides conducted friendly conversation on issues of common interest.
　
After listening to the introduction of the guests on Belarus’s energy plan and development of nuclear power, Sun Qin also briefed nuclear power program of China and the related situations. Afterwards, he expressed the desire of China to conduct nuclear power cooperation with Belarus under the framework of “Safeguards Agreement” pursuant to International Atomic Energy Agency; at the same time he stressed Chinese government’s support for Chinese enterprises to conduct cooperation and exchange with Belarus counterparts in technological and economical aspects, encourages the enterprises to deepen their mutual exchange and understanding. He also hoped that both countries would make substantial progress in the nuclear power field.

Belarus ambassador in China, the first vice minister of Ministry of Energy, the directors from Comprehensive Planning Department, International Cooperation Department and System Engineering Department of CAEA, etc, were present at the interview.
